Reachback are a Rock band from London / Essex who have journeyed steadily from the humblings of suburban teen bedroom demos and rehearsals in 2008 into an adult band now rapidly catching both the public and industry eye.

Two siblings and four friends, bound by their teenage band experience and a shared passion and admiration for guitar-centered pop music; Reachback have stuck to the unfashionable task of perfecting a clean, radio-friendly UK Rock band sound and presentation that could soon become hard to ignore...

The band recorded and released their first single ‘Butterflies’ in August 2010; a track that would get short-listed for the industry-selected UK ‘Pop Music Crown Award’ for unsigned artists and enjoy national air-play on Absolute Radio.

2010 ended with Reachback winning ‘Essex Undiscovered’; a seventy-two band county-wide live performance competition again judged by music industry executives. The competition elevated regional recognition of the band and bought funded recording opportunities with Grammy Award-nominated producer, Matt Hyde (Newton Falkener, Ash, Bullet For My Valentine).

In February 2011 Reachback released ‘No One Else’ - a more Rock-driven single with similarly pristine production. The track caught the ear of both Radio 1 and Kerrang! Magazine and was selected by Music Week to feature in a playlist of UK tracks tipped for licensing success in the US.

Reachback released their third single ‘Without You’ in April 2011 which went straight into the Total Rock Radio playlist. That month the band were also short-listed finalists in the Hard Rock Calling London Battle of the Bands and were subsequently named as Absolute Radio’s ‘Unsigned Band of the Week’ by Sarah Champion.

Reachback became a major success story from the 2011 BPI / UKTI Los Angeles Sync Mission when their presentation was picked up on by US MTV A&R Consultant, Nic Harcourt; a man dubbed ‘the most influential DJ in America’.

Reachback subsequently became one of the first UK acts to agree publishing terms with ‘Hype Music’; a hybrid production catalogue powered by MTV and Sony ATV to support leading independent acts with MTV-identified global popular reach.

In September Reachback were invited to Abbey Road Studios to record acoustic presentations of tracks ‘Butterflies’ and ‘No One Else’ with MTV and Extreme Music executives with the view to placing the tracks across film and television - the band’s first positive venture in association with ‘Hype Music’.

Reachback also become one of the first unsigned acts identified by Live Nation to release live-recorded audio and visual presentation through ‘Live Connected’; a pioneering service to industry subscribers and online audiences.

The band released 5-track EP 'Wake Up' through MTV on October 31 2011.

2012

Reachback entered the first week of 2012 with a bang, winning Ourzone's band on the month before setting off to Los Angeles, California where Reachback were nominated for 3 'Artist in Music Awards' including 'Band of the Year'. While in LA, Reachback also played showcases in MTV's head offices and to Extreme Music (SonyATV).

In early April, the band took to the stage and supported McFly on the Southend date of their current “Keep Calm and Play Louder” Tour, which triggered an enormous response from fans and media.

Following the show, Reachback released their debut official video for the track ‘No One Else’ off the Wake Up EP, which was exclusively released through Ourzone Magazine, and resulted in Reachback having a double page spread in Ourzone’s April/May edition. The video was also featured on Florida based radio station, Sunset Island Music’s home page, and Blank TV. The video quickly hit over 2,000 views in the first hour, and over 20,000 views in the first week. Kerrang and MTV Networks both took interest in the video, and it is pending to be aired on both channels.

The recent success of both the McFly show and video release saw the band win Week 14 of Red Bull’s Bedroom Jam Buzz Chart. This resulted in a place for Reachback in the ‘Festival Chart’ along with 15 other bands. Out of the 15 bands, 7 of them were chosen by top judges, including Daniel P Carter of BBC Radio 1's Rock Show, to play some of the UK’s hottest festivals, including Slam Dunk, Download, Hevy and Underage Festival. Reachback were named amongst the seven, and kick off the summer with a slot on the Red Bull Stage at Slam Dunk (South)

The current buzz around Reachback resulted in them gaining an invitation to participate in the celebrity charity football tournament 'Soccer Six' where they took part in the "Rock, Indie & Metal" day, with bands such as You Me At Six and Bring Me The Horizon, Architects and many more. It took place on Friday 11th May at Leyton Orient Football Club.

Furthermore, Reachback were invited to play a full live show at the Soccer Six Main Event at West Ham Football Club on Sunday 20th May.

Reachback started off the festival season with a well received performance at Slam Dunk Festival (south) sharing the stage with the likes of Cartel, Forever The Sickest Kids and Mayday Parade.

Reachback’s track, Butterflies, off the Wake Up EP was also recently featured on a German movie trailer for the film,DIE VAMPIRSCHWESTERN.
